A Safe Staycation

COVID-19 Procedures at Blueberry House

Here at Blueberry House we want to ensure that you have a safe and happy stay with us and hope that the following procedures that we have introduced mean that we are all safe. Please note that we aim to comply with the Government’s COVID -19 Guidance which may change from time to time.

Amended Bookings and Cancellation Policy

Whilst social distancing measures are in place, we are limiting the number of rooms that are available to guests. This will depend very much on the number of separate households who are staying with us at any time. We will however try to be as flexible as possible. In addition, a 2 night minimum stay restriction applies at the moment.

If you book with us and have to cancel your booking at the last minute there will be no cancellation fee and booking dates can also be amended subject to availability.

Names, addresses and emergency contact details are required for all guests. This is so that we can advise you in the unlikely event that we have to close and to also allow us to provide 'NHS Test and Trace' information as required.

Social Distancing

It is important that social distancing is maintained. Therefore we would ask that when using common areas such as stairs and corridors, you observe the current Government distancing advice. We would also suggest that face coverings be worn in such common areas. Common areas and surfaces such as door handles and stair banisters will be sanitised regularly.

Food (Breakfast and Dining)

We will be limiting the occupancy in the Dining Room in order to maintain social distancing and ask that guests support us in this. Breakfast times may be need to be staggered depending on the number of guests. We are also happy for guests to use the Dining Room to eat take away evening meals but once again this will need to be managed to around social distancing.

It would be helpful if you could let us know what you want for breakfast by text or email the evening before.

Room Cleaning and Servicing

We will be offering limited daily servicing of rooms, in order to avoid any unnecessary contact. All bathroom amenities such as Shower gels, shampoo, soap etc. are replaced for each new guest arrival, as are bedroom amenities (tea, coffee, water, biscuits etc.).

Rooms are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised and redressed between guests as usual.

Payment Options

We encourage our guests to pay us electronically. Obviously, when paying for your accommodation this is likely to be above the current contactless limits. Therefore, you may also pay us direct though PayPal or by card using our card reader. The card reader will be cleaned between uses. We would request that you do not pay by cash if at all possible.

If You Have COVID-19 Symptoms

If you develop symptoms prior to arrival, you should contact us urgently. We will then  assist you to cancel or amend your booking.

Government guidelines suggest the following: Should a guest develops signs of the Covid-19 virus during their stay, they must inform us immediately, self-isolate in their room in order to minimise any risk of transmission and request a test. If they are confirmed to have Covid-19, they should return home if they reasonably can. They should use private transport but only drive if they can do so safely. If a guest cannot reasonably return home (for example because they are not well enough to travel or do not have the means to arrange transport), their circumstances should be discussed with an appropriate health care professional and, if necessary, the local authority. In this circumstance, we will discuss next steps with the guest as soon as possible.

We will also immediately advise remaining/future guests and follow UK Government COVID-19 Guidance.
